AWFiS focuses on education in fields related to the body. AWFiS has at its disposal 5 outdoor fields, 13 sports halls, 2 sports halls, a swimming pool, a Laboratory of Physical Effort and Genetics in Sport, and the National Sailing Center. It is the only sports university in Pomerania where theoretical and practical classes are conducted by recognized scientists and specialists in areas relevant to specific study programs, as well as Olympic and national team coaches, and outstanding athletes.
Achievements
Students engage in 10 sports sections. AWFiS is one of the top sports universities in Central and Eastern Europe (Shanghai Ranking’s 2020), while in the Perspektywy 2019 ranking, the physiotherapy course was ranked 2nd, and physical education was recognized as the best in Poland.
Direction
The Chairman of the Medical Section of the Space Research Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, with his experiment “EEG neurofeedback lowers stress response during isolation in astronauts,” was among the 18 Polish scientific entities selected to carry out their research projects on the International Space Station (ISS).
