The university is one of nine belonging to the European Maritime University and supports research commercialization and innovation through the International Cooperation Office and the Technology Transfer Center. Every year, it attracts hundreds of young students through foreign internships and programs such as “Young leaders of research groups”, UGrants, “Support for the Humanities of Gdańsk”, as well as the presence of visiting professors of the UG.

Achievements

76 million PLN was obtained for the creation of the International Center for Research on Anticancer Vaccines and the International Center for the Theory of Quantum Technologies. The university is highly innovative in obtaining funds for projects under the EU Horizon 2020 program.

Direction

Continuation of innovative research and projects in the area of blue biotechnology, biodiversity, marine ecosystems, sustainable urban development, biomedicine, and further membership in networks of excellence, including RECOURSE, Center of Excellence for Baltic Development, BioMoBil, MARBEF, VIRGIL, MOBI4Health.
